COPYRIGHTberlin
COPYRIGHT is an ongoing artists' project and magazine that was founded in 1999 by Berlin based artists Patrick Huber and Ute Lindner and serves as a non-commercial platform for current artistic positions and strategies. Furthermore, COPYRIGHT acts as a publisher of the magazine COPYRIGHT which is published irregularly. Since 1999 eight issues have been published, the last three ones dealing with the issue of Spaces/Non Spaces, Presence/Absence and Ethics/Aesthetics. COPYRIGHT is now planning its ninth project about space and identity: "© No. 9 im-raum-stehen."
Between December 2004 and November 2006 COPYRIGHT organized numerous exhibitions, performances and lectures at Brunnenstr. 53 in Berlin—at the edge of East and West Berlin—and since 2008 at Schwedenstrasse 16. Since 2002 COPYRIGHT is also developing the cultural profile of the Tabakfabrik Vierraden, run by kunstbauwerk e.V. COPYRIGHT is part of Netzwerk freier Berliner Projekträume und -initiativen and Kolonie Wedding.
COPYRIGHTberlin was awarded the Berlin Project Space Prize in 2018, was part of the Berlin Art Week and was also selected several times for the European Month of Photography (EMOP).
Singer and composer Margarete Huber has been part of the COPYRIGHT team since 2020 and enriches the artistic programme primarily with the conception and realisation of concerts and performative events.
