Kunstverein Neukölln e.V.
Kunstverein Neukölln sees itself as an open forum for Berlin-based and international artists. It aims to promote exchange between artists and introduce their work to a broader public. Every month, Kunstverein Neukölln presents an exhibition of contemporary art across all genres. The exhibitions are theme-oriented and bring together different artistic positions and forms of expression. So far, Kunstverein Neukölln has shown works by around 350 artists in more than 100 exhibitions.
In addition to the exhibitions, or independently of them, numerous other events take place, including readings, concerts and performances. The association is also active in art and cultural mediation. Lectures, artist talks and guided tours are intended to support an understanding of contemporary art. The association also regularly organizes and supports further cultural projects in the district.
Kunstverein Neukölln was founded in 2007. It is recognized as a non-profit organization and has around 60 members, including many artists from Neukölln. It is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft deutscher Kunstvereine (ADKV), the Netzwerk freier Berliner Projekträume- und initiaven e.V. and the Kulturnetzwerk Neukölln e.V., and cooperates with the cultural department of the Neukölln district office, several neighborhood managements and other groups and institutions.
Opening hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 14:00–20:00. Please note possible special opening hours for individual exhibitions. Admission is usually free.
