Projektraum Neun Kelche

Neun Kelche is a project space at Pasedagplatz in Berlin-Weißensee curated by Kira Dell and Laura Seidel. In May 2024, artist Neda Naujokaitė joined the team in press and public relations and as assistant curator.

Since the beginning of 2021, local artists have found a space for exchange and encounter here. The program is shaped from the neighborhood and further developed through cooperations on national and international levels. Neun Kelche mainly works with FLINTA* artists. In solo or duo exhibitions, site-specific installations are developed and expanded performatively or with film, video and sound.

The curatorial work of Kira Dell and Laura Seidel is based on a fundamentally power-critical and intersectional perspective. Thematically, they focus in particular on utopias of planetary coexistence between human and non-human agents, ideas of collective love, social perspectives on parenthood and the agency of artistic materials.

Instead of prescribing a rigid curatorial program, thematic overlaps with artists are sought in a collaborative negotiation process and in in-depth studio visits, and exhibitions are developed from this together. The Neun Kelche team critically engages with working structures in the art sector, and the starting point of curatorial work is always transparent financing clarified in advance. Through long-term cooperation with project partners, Neun Kelche aims to counteract fast-paced working structures as an initiative.
