RAUM FÜR ZWECKFREIHEIT

The RAUM FÜR ZWECKFREIHEIT (SPACE FOR 'PURPOSELESSNESS'—in the sense of free research) provides exactly this in a backyard house at Adalbertstrasse 71 in the centre of Berlin.

It is a space for developing, realizing and presenting purposeless projects and works of art, based on the idea to work independently and not for commercial profit.

Current political topics play a role, as does exchange and discourse about art and artworks, artistic work, production, culture and purposelessness. Projects are developed and realized in close cooperation with the artists.

The aim is to create works or installations specifically for this place, reflecting and addressing curatorial conditions and questions across various fields of tension.
