Neue Berliner Räume
Neue Berliner Räume is a nomadic project space in Berlin founded in 2011. NBR organizes cultural projects at ever-changing locations across the city and deliberately works without fixed premises.
NBR’s exhibitions and projects focus on the historical, socio-political, affective and architectural contexts of different places in Berlin and share them with a broad audience under the conditions of this engagement. Alongside this are thematic group exhibitions and the presentation of selected individual positions in contemporary culture.
NBR is run as a non-profit association by Sylvia Sadzinski, Valerie Senden, Manuel Wischnewski and Marie Wocher on a voluntary basis—in cooperation with a constantly changing ensemble of contributors from various disciplines.
The interdisciplinary projects have been part of the programs of numerous festivals such as the International Literature Festival and the Project Space Festival Berlin and often emerge in close cooperation with partners such as C/O Berlin, Kunsthaus Dahlem or Freie Universität Berlin. In 2015 NBR received the Project Space Award of the Senate Chancellery for Cultural Affairs of the City of Berlin.
The program is, not least, an attempt to experience Berlin anew again and again, to remain curious and to shape the shared experience of this city.
